Most homes were built with far fewer sockets than we use today. If you are living on extension leads and adaptors, adding a few sockets is a small job that makes a big difference – and it is safer.

What it involves
Surface-mounted or chased-in – your choice. Chased-in is neater but means a little making good. Most extra sockets take an hour or two each; we check the existing circuit can take the extra load before we add anything.
Paperwork
Adding to an existing circuit gets a Minor Works Certificate; a new circuit gets a full certificate and notification. Either way you get the paperwork.

How many sockets can go on one circuit?
It depends on the floor area and what is plugged in, not a fixed number. We will check and tell you if a new circuit is the better option.
