Every piece of electrical work should leave you with the right paperwork. It protects you when you sell, let or insure a property, and it proves the work was tested. We issue all certificates through our NICEIC registration.
If we did the original work we can usually reissue it. If another electrician did the work and there is no record, an EICR is the way to get the installation documented.
Selling a house, claiming on insurance after a fire, or letting to tenants – in each case you will be asked for certificates. Having them in order saves time and money later.
Is a certificate the same as an EICR?
No. A certificate covers new work we have done; an EICR is a report on existing wiring, whoever installed it.
