Downlights give clean, even light without a pendant in the way. Done well they transform a kitchen or bathroom; done badly they leave dark patches and warm ceilings. We plan the layout, fit fire-rated LED units and make sure they are safe for the room.
What we fit
- Fire-rated LED downlights (required where a floor is above)
- IP65 units for bathrooms and shower areas
- Colour-selectable or dimmable units
- Tilt fittings to light walls, artwork or worktops
- Replacement of old halogen downlights with efficient LEDs
Layout matters
We space fittings to suit the room and where the light is needed – over worktops, not the middle of the floor. A typical kitchen needs 6–10 fittings; we will draw it out with you before drilling.
Insulation and safety
Downlights get hot and need clearance from loft insulation. We use fittings designed for it or fit hoods so nothing is compromised.
Common questions
Can you swap my old halogens for LED without new holes?
In most cases yes – there are LED units made to fit standard cut-outs, and they use around a tenth of the power.
